Youth Advisory Board and Legacy Fund Awards Grants

Legacy Fund, the Hamilton County affiliate of Central Indiana Community Foundation, announced $134,400 in grants will be awarded to 19 organizations. Grants were approved by the Legacy Fund board of directors and include grants selected by the LINK Youth Advisory Council, a grant-making council for high school students.

Legacy Fund awarded 14 competitive grants to organizations. Highlights include:

  • Arts for Learning ($5,000)— support for an arts education program for 1,300 Hamilton County students with professional artists.
  • Advocates for Children and Families Inc. ($12,000)—to subsidize trauma therapy services to a growing number of Hamilton County children involved in cases with sexual abuse, physical abuse or neglect.
  • Alternatives Inc. ($15,000)—support for continued advocacy, case management and emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence.
  • Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County ($15,000)—will fund meals for the Sponsor-a-Senior program that delivers free meals to elderly, disabled or homebound individuals five days per week.
